Good Morning Everyone!
Congrats I want to congratulate everyone involved last Friday. We had a great night and really demonstrated some class. I really love how our band allows the rivalry to remain on the field yet remains extremely supportive of the entire community at the same time. Thank you for fostering this at home. Planning for Playoff's We are entering into the last two weeks of the regular marching band season, I want to take a moment to reiterate that playoff games have been on the calendar since the issuing of the calendar. It is expected that every Marching Tiger participates and plans accordingly just like the regular season. It is no secret that our football team is very good. Pretending that our appearance in the playoffs is a surprise is not a valid excuse. Playoff games are when we perform script tigers and do other fun things. I will cancel script tigers when I receive notice of too many unexcused absences and will do a simple block band show. New Philadelphia Contest We are approaching our last District Contest of the season. This is our last attempt to improve our numeric score and to protect our overall rating of Superior before our appearance at State Marching Band Finals. Please consider making the trip out east to support the Marching Tigers. Meals for Saturday will be on their own. Students are expected to eat a good lunch before they arrive to school Saturday afternoon. All band members will have time to eat dinner at New Philly after our performance and before awards. By law students are not to eat on the school buses. Not all drivers enforce this law the same. It is up to the driver's discretion. Please be respectful of how the bus driver decides to enforce this law when carrying on snacks or food for the bus ride. It's going to be a very late arrival Saturday night. Please plan accordingly, do not leave your child sitting in the cold! And please continue to refrain from picking up kids at the gray doors behind the dumpsters. This is a safety concern that is easily controlled by keeping ALL cars out of the cove and in the parking lot. (The kids are young and can walk!) 2:00 - Dress rehearsal 3:00 - Load/change 4:00 - Depart for Quaker Stadium (please note the location is not the high school. See previous FYI.) 6:15 - Arrive 7:15 - Warm-up 8:15 - Perform 9:45 - Awards 10:15 - Depart 12:15 - Arrive Senior Night! Congrats to the Seniors and parents who have been apart of the Marching Tigers for the past 4 years. I am very proud of everyone and look forward to celebrating! For non-seniors this Friday is similar to homecoming. The uniform expectations stay the same and the halftime show is similar to a homecoming show, Senior Parents - Please arrive down on the track around 6pm. Be prepared for Mrs. England to help you get in alphabetical order. 3:45 - Seniors drop off costumes at Ridgeview. Seniors - Do not be late, you need to be on the practice field at 4! 4:00 - Dress rehearsal with seniors. 4:30 - Seniors Dismissed (finish changing then meet parents on track around 6pm. 4:30 - Underclassmen tunnel rehearsal/ pregame rehearsal. 5:00 - Load/change 6:00 - Line-up in the LT lot. 6:05 - Depart 6:15 - Form Tunnel on track 6:20 - Begin recognizing seniors 6:40 - Perform Amazing Grace with seniors encircled on the track. (Seniors take parents inside the tunnel) Photos to follow. 6:45 - Band members in uniform make their way back field to perform pregame. 6:50 - Perform Pregame 7:00 - Kick-off/ Seniors report to inside Ridgeview to change. State Marching Band Finals State Marching Band Finals will be held at Hilliard Bradley on November 2nd. Our tentative performance time is 8:30.
