All,
My apologies for the late FYI. Thank you for everyone's help last Friday. We made things work and managed to help the North band get their instruments back to their high school. There is an important survey in your email from Dr Parulekar. In an effort to better serve our band programs, the directors have put together an end of season survey for both parents and students. If you did not receive this email, be sure to look in your spam folders. This Friday's playoff game is against Upper Arlington at Westerville Central High School. Ticket link and map are at the bottom of the FYI. Uniform Students did a great job of wearing the appropriate layers last Friday. The same rules will apply this Friday as well. We will wear our Purple uniforms with layers for warmth with raincoats as an additional layer. If students have taken more than one raincoat home we expect those extra coats are turned in this Friday. Timeline 4:30 - Report and Load 5:00 - Depart for Westerville Central High School 6:00 - Arrive at Westerville Central 6:48 - Central Performs Pregame 7:07 - Kickoff TBD - Depart for Central TBD - Arrive at Central (Best guess is after 10 pm) Chaperones Bus 1 - Patty Richardson, Sheila Kelley Bus 2 - Natalie Matney, Vanessa Niekamp Bus 3 - Kevin and Robin Saionzkowski Bus 4 - Mark and Kelly Brick

All, Thank you to all that helped with the band last Friday! So far if it isn't raining, it is frigid cold! Fortunately this Friday looks to be clear of any rain. I'll continue to monitor the weather to see if we need raincoats for an additional layer. Uniforms Friday we will wear our purple uniforms. Dress in layers under your uniform. No hoodies. Beanies/sock hats (what ever you grew up calling them) are permitted if they are school colors. White, purple or black are acceptable. No additional hats are to be worn under the uniform shako (band hat). Ticket Sales Tickets for the game are online only! Thank you for a great marching band regular season! It was extremely rewarding to watch the band grow and progress through the learning of our 2021 competition show. This wouldn't have been possible without the booster support, school support and students! Thank you! As we transition into football band it is important to make one thing clear. Attendance is MANDATORY for playoff games. It is my hope that we can pull Script Tigers out of hibernation and get this going for a few games. the caveat here is that attendance is everything for a successful Script Tigers. I understand that things do happen out of everyones control and situations do arise. With that said, the "no questions asked" excused absences are only: 1, Death in the family 2. Personal Illness (this includes quarantine) Over the last two years we have seen an increase in frivolous or questionable unexcused absences. Examples include but are not limited to: work concerts poor grades home work due baby sitting siblings no call, no show (the worst of all) We want all our members to have great grades and jobs, but it is imperative that you manage your time wisely. Keep in mind that Marching Band is a class and all students receive a participation grade for the class. It also puts fellow members in difficult situations when we rely on one another to perform at our best. Please make sure to submit planned absence forms early in the week as we navigate the football Post season. Uniforms For the remainder of the playoff season we will wear our normal purple uniforms. Layers of clothing are encouraged in order for kids to remain warm, however please avoid wearing hoodies and sweats. Long underwear/running tights/leggings and compression wear will insulate much more effectively than bulky hoodies and sweat pants. This in turn will keep you warm and not break uniform protocol. Timeline 3:10 - Dress rehearsal on band practice field 4:10 - Dismiss. Take instruments with you! 5:30 - Report to Ridgeview parking lot. Students park in grass lot closest to C3 church. (on the ridge)* 5:45 - Warm-up 6:25 - Parade from Ridgeview parking lot. Students park in grass lot closest to C3 church. (on the ridge)* 6:45 - pregame (combined with Hilliard Bradley Band) 7:00 - Kick-off *I want to continue to encourage SAFE car-pooling and/or parent drop off. In the event of a loss uniforms will be returned that same night. Volunteers Amy Menke - Nurse Jeff and Jessica Hansen Mark and Kelly Brick Diane Ouimet Erin Gorgas Curtis Richardson |
