PHSC MARCHING TIGERS
Volunteer Information
We are only able to pursue our shared ambitions and vision for the program with the support of our band parents. Volunteering gives a unique opportunity to interact with the students in our program, contribute to the program's overall success, and witness the musical and personal growth of our students.
The district requires a volunteer form to be completed and approved for all volunteers. The "volunteer form" must be completed every year. There are 2 levels of volunteer. Level 1 certification allows you to assist with basic band activities. Level 2 certification is required for any individuals in close unsupervised contact with students, and/or those individuals handling money. The background check for Level 2 certification is valid for five (5) years (but the "form" must be completed and turned in on an annual basis).
[The PHSC Marching Band and PSHC School District maintain the right to approve or disapprove any volunteer, or the the extent of any volunteer participation as they deem appropriate.]
The Executive Board will periodically invite chairs/committees/volunteers to Executive Meetings or special meetings when a decision by the Board needs to be made or to improve communications with the teams. We ask that all volunteers work through their chair to communicate issues to the Board. This will alleviate any miscommunication issues and provide the quickest method for the Board to be able to respond.
We ask that volunteers and chairs do not collect money from the members unless appointed to do so by an Executive Board Member. This is to alleviate the chance of money getting lost and to provide proper documentation to the parents/booster members of their money received.
To protect our families and the students the Board will not distribute personal contact information to the volunteers or chairs. All communications with the booster members should go through the booster secretary. As events and needs arise, we will ask parents to contact specific chairs or volunteers directly, but we will not distribute contact information. We have many unique family situations and we do not want to be liable for sharing this information improperly.
If you are interested in volunteering, please click on the links below for additional information. You are also invited to attend our monthly Booster Meertings, or you may contact any of Executive Board members with questions or to receive additional information.
Thank you for all that you do !!
