Community Service
The Pickerington Central Marching Band emphasizes the value of service by encouraging students to give back and take active roles in the school, community, and nation.
In 2018, the Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, CA honored long-time Pickerington Band Director Michael D. Sewell by implementing the Tournament of Roses Michael D. Sewell Service Through Music Award which is given annually at the Band Director's Recognition Breakfast, and is awarded to a participating Rose Parade Band that exhibits excellence in service both on and off the field.
