PHSC MARCHING TIGERS
Booster Fees
The foundation of the Pickerington Central Marching Band is its Booster Club.
THE 2022-23 BOOSTER CLUB FEES ARE $200 PER STUDENT.
Booster Club Fees are in addition to the School District Pay-To-Participate Fee and/or one's involvement in fundraising activities. The pay-to-participate fee covers only a very small fraction of our operational costs, and fundraising alone is insufficient to augment the cost. Booster Club Fees are necessary to supplement these income sources and provide students with basic necessities.
Booster Club Members support the PHSC marching band by covering the costs of such things as: band instruments, show design, composition, licensing, event fees, guest clinicians, awards, transportation, communication, and student activities throughout the year.

- Payment of the booster club fees is due at registration on the first day of band camp.
- Booster Club fee payments can be made by cash, check or money order, or through your Charms account. Receipts will be given upon request.
- Checks should be made payable to the Pickerington Central Music Boosters (PCMB) and "booster club fee" should be written on the memo area of the check.
- There will be a $25 returned check fee for any returned checks. If two checks are bounced, that form of payment will no longer be accepted. Payment will be required in the form of a bank check, cashier’s check, money order or cash.
- Payments can be made at registration, through your Charms account, or mailed to:
Pickerington Central Music Boosters (PCMB)

Pickerington, OH 43147
- Please do not have students take cash, checks or money orders to the band directors.
- The Pickerington Central School District mandates that a payment exemption to booster club fees be provided for families who are experiencing financial hardship. We will not turn any student away. If a fee presents a financial hardship, please contact one of our Booster Club executive board members to apply for assistance. Financial hardship applications will be held in strict confidence.
- TIGER CARDS: Each band member is required to sell two (2) Tiger Cards. The cost of each Tiger Card is $10.00, and payment is due at registration. Tiger Card payments can be made by cash, check or money order. Checks should be made payable to the Pickerington Central Music Boosters (PCMB) and "Tiger Card" should be written in the memo area of the check. Parents may purchase additional Tiger Cards should they desire. For each additional Tiger Card sold (after the two mandatory cards), their student will earn a $5 credit. Credits will be applied to the student’s individual Charms account balance.
- Volunteer opportunities are open to all, but Booster Club members have priority.
- The Booster Club operates on a zero-based budget which is a method of budgeting in which all expenses must be justified for each new period. Typically, for the Booster Club, that is the entire academic year. The process of zero-based budgeting starts from a “zero base” and every function is analyzed for its needs and costs. The advantages of zero-based budgeting are that it is focused on operational needs, keeps costs down, and is a more disciplined execution. The disadvantage is that it is resource intensive and is biased towards short-term planning which can cause limitations in periods of economic stress such as the Covid-19 pandemic witnessed in 2020.
- It costs a great deal to offer a quality band program to our membership. Expenses are incurred throughout the year, and not just in the fall football season. Supporting the Booster Club is vital to the experience we are able to offer students in the band program at Pickerington Central. Please contribute your support to the students, directors, and staff by taking an active role in the Booster Club.
