All,
Thank you so much for an awesome weekend this past Friday and Saturday. Despite being cold I felt like the band performed very well! We will not practice Wednesday this week. We will have a dress rehearsal on Friday starting at 3:15. I plan on running our halftime show for the last time this Friday as an encore for the season. Uniforms We plan on wearing our full purple uniforms. This includes hats and gloves. All students must wear black socks! Students must avoid wearing hooded sweatshirts under the uniform jacket and jeans under their pants. The high for Friday is in the 40's. Please layer under your uniforms for cooler temperatures. Timeline 3:15 Practice on the Band practice field. 4:30 Rehearsal Ends, Loading begins. Students most leave campus. The band room is NOT to be used as a locker room. 6:15 All band members report inside Tiger Stadium. 6:45 Line up for pregame! 7:00 Kick-off TBD Band room open to return equipment.

All,
As we look at our final week of preparation before the last band show of the season I want to say thank you! We've had great leadership from our student leaders in the band and great leadership from the Booster officers for the parents. The success of the band is truly a reflection of the countless hours of hard work given by so many! Potential October 30th Playoff game If the the Tigers win this Friday Central will have the opportunity to host a 4th football game at. home. We will attend this game and participate in the same fashion we have been up to this point in the season. Because we have two events happening this weekend we will outline them as two separate events in one FYI. (In other words, make sure you are looking at the info for the correct day.) Friday 10/23 - Playoff Game INFO Uniform I am anticipating warmer weather than last week. We will continue our casual uniform of jeans and Polos for this Friday. Tickets I've seen the booster emails going out, they are doing a great getting this info out to parents. I do want to reiterate that Friday's tickets are though the OHSAA link and not the HomeTown Ticketing website. The same first come, first serve practice will remain in place for football games for the rest of the season. Timeline 4:00 Band room opens/Percussion Load-in begins/instrument pick-up 5:00 Band room closes/Percussion load-in concludes 5:30 Student report time 5:45 Dress rehearsal in Victory Park 6:15. Students need to wear white long socks. Please make sure your child is wearing lighter colored shorts under their white pants. Brighter colors can be seen though the white pants. Make sure this is not an issue. Gloves and plumes will be issued prior to our performances. Uniforms will stay with families after this performance for a potential (weather permitting) "game in full uniform" on 10/30. Ticketing We will be using Hometown Ticketing for this event. Purchase your tickets below using your student's id number. https://www.pickerington.k12.oh.us/pickerington-central-high/phsc-box-office/ Timeline 3:00 pm Students who store instruments in the band room report to load the band trailer. We had an awesome show this past Friday with many positive comments from spectators and families. This week we've made a point to continue to develop choreography, refine the drill and to continue to promote quality tone production during the demanding moments of the show. I'm beyond proud of these kids and their efforts since July. We are looking forward to another great night this Friday. Ticketing The ticketing process for this week (and for here on out) will be the same as last week. In fact, there is no change to the process in any way. We were hoping that OHSAA (per our request) would split the ticket codes into single tickets instead of pairs, but this did not happen. Senior parents will receive 2 tickets and underclassmen tickets will be issued on a first come, first serve based on timestamps. Please see my previous Ticketing update from last week for more detailed information. Uniforms We will have the same uniform as our last home game. This Friday we will wear a modified uniform. I discussed this with Cohort A kids today, I plan on doing the same thing on Thursday with Cohort B. The uniform for Friday will be as follows: - Tennis Shoes (only tennis shoes, no boots or slip on shoes) - Blue Jeans (no jeans with holes) - Band polo - Hair must be up - No Large or colorful piercings - The weather for Friday will be mild. It's not quite chilly yet. No blankets in the stands, please. ***Students may bring a Tiger or PHSC sweatshirt/jacket to wear in the stands. No college apparel or graphic designs of any kind will be permitted. We will remove our sweatshirts for Pregame and Halftime.*** Senior Night Bio's I believe we are doing fairly well in the collection of senior bios for the 10/24. Please have a quick follow-up with your senior to make sure they have completed the necessary forms and downloaded the appropriate music for the 10/23 post-game show for parents. Friday Timeline 4:00 Band room opens/Percussion Load-in begins/instrument pick-up 5:00 Band room closes/Percussion load-in concludes 5:45 All students report directly to their seats inside Tiger Stadium for warm-up (this week only) 6:00. Warm-up begins inside Tiger Stadium in our end-zone 6:45 Begin Pregame 7:00 Kick-off TBA Band room open for 30 minutes after the game All Marching Tiger families,
It was brought to my attention at 1:00pm that OHSAA will be handling the online ticketing for Friday's game. Please do not attempt to buy tickets for Friday on our Hometown Ticketing website; you will not find them. Here is what you need to know regarding ticketing: - Tickets are $12, the surcharge will be included in your ticket price. - Seats are general admission. Parents will be asked to sit on a numbered seat in the stadium. - Codes will NOT be student id numbers. They will be emailed to you via the booster email address. - All codes are for two tickets. We are hoping to get this corrected though OHSAA for round 2 of the playoffs. Senior Tickets Because the passcodes allow the parent access to obtain two tickets, we will initially send all Senior parents a passcode for their family. These passcodes will go 'live' at 9:00am tomorrow morning. Senior parents: we ask that you buy your tickets ASAP tomorrow morning. Underclassmen Tickets All underclassmen families will be sent a google form to fill out in order to declare interest in purchasing two tickets. We will then issue passcodes to underclassmen families on a first come first serve basis. We will issue codes until our allotment for band tickets are sold out. All passcodes will be for two tickets. We will start the process of issuing passcodes to underclassmen families using the prescribed process starting tomorrow afternoon. I realize this isn't ideal and we had to essentially change the "ticketing game". However, given the situation handed to us from OHSAA, ALL of Pickerington is scrambling to provide our community with the opportunity to attend this week's playoff games. I would like to make it clear this is not an issue created by the PHSC Band Boosters or the PLSD school district. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding. Best wishes and please email me directly with any further questions. Mr Stowe Good Morning Marching Tiger Families,
Last night we managed to put all of our drill on the field for our 2020 Halftime show! Kids were excited and so is the staff. We work very hard at focusing on quality over quantity. The time-consuming process of demanding excellence and going at a pace that allows every student to feel as if they are contributing to the overall good makes for a very exciting moment when the last chart goes on! Uniforms We will have the same uniform as our last home game. This Friday we will wear a modified uniform. I discussed this with Cohort A kids today, I plan on doing the same thing on Thursday with Cohort B. We will remove our sweatshirts for Pregame and Halftime.*** Senior Bio's and recognition All seniors have been invited to a special google classroom to fill out the bio that allows me to write a concise script. These need to be in by this Friday so that I have time to format everything. Seniors will be recognized before the October 24th performance and will look very similar to how North managed the event at the previous show. Due to Covid regulations and PLSD guidelines seniors will be allowed 2 escorts on the field. If your family situation is extended beyond this we will gladly announce all guardians and parents in the announcements. Friday Timeline 4:00 Band room opens/Percussion Load-in begins/instrument pick-up 5:00 Band room closes/Percussion load-in concludes 5:20 All Students report to Victory Park in basics block formation for attendance 5:45 Dress rehearsal 6:15 Dismiss to enter stadium 6:45 Begin Pregame 7:00 Kick-off TBA Band room open for 30 minutes after the game |
