All,
The school district sent out reminders to families that have a balance for Pay-to-Participate fees. As a reminder, this is a SCHOOL FEE from the district and not a booster fee. The district's policy on unpaid district fees can result in your child not participating in marching band. If you are experiencing financial hardship you may apply for payment plan options with the Athletic Office. Feel free to email me with any questions regarding this matter. Respectfully, Mr Stowe

All,
Thank you for a great weekend! The band looked and sounded great. This is truly my favorite time of year. In this FYI we will discuss Friday Night and what the schedule for playoff football might look like. Uniforms This Friday we will wear a modified uniform. I discussed this with Cohort A kids today, I plan on doing the same thing on Thursday with Cohort B. The uniform for Friday will be as follows: - Tennis Shoes (only tennis shoes, no boots or slip on shoes) - Blue Jeans (no jeans with holes) - Band polo - Hair must be up - No Large or colorful piercings ***Students may bring a Tiger or PHSC sweatshirt to wear in the stands. No college apparel or graphic designs of any kind will be permitted. We will remove our sweatshirts for Pregame and Halftime.*** Warm-up Parents may join us for our warm-up in the Victory Park baseball diamond outfield. We ask that you continue to listen from a distance, while remaining masked and socially distant between families! Thank you, Due to Homecoming activities we will start earlier. Se Timeline for the specific time! Friday Timeline 4:00 Band room opens/Percussion Load-in begins/instrument pick-up 5:00 Band room closes/Percussion load-in concludes 5:20 All Students report to Victory Park in basics block formation for attendance 5:30 Dress rehearsal 6:00 Dismiss to enter stadium 6:15 Announce Homecoming court 6:45 Begin Pregame 7:00 Kick-off TBA Band room open for 30 minutes after the game Playoff Football OHSAA has posted the teams that will be participating in the 2020 Playoffs. Tiger Football has opted-in for the playoff tournament. Due to our high rank (1st in division 1) We have been awarded the following home schedule listed below. I have not received any word of a change of protocol that would allow us to travel to any away football playoff games. I intend to keep enquiring on our student's behalf. 10/9 - Home playoff or bye-week 10/16 - Home playoff 10/23 - Home playoff Ticket Sale Update:
- All remaining tickets will be on sale today (Friday, September 18) from 10am-10pm. - Each student ID number can purchase up to 4 additional tickets. - Your pass code is your student’s ID number. - Sale ends at 10pm tonight (Sept 18). - There will be no tickets for sale the day of the event or at the gate. All tickets are pre-sale only. - Use this link to purchase tickets: https://www.pickerington.k12.oh.us/pickerington-north-high/phsn-box-office/ - Thank you! Marching Tiger Families, I'd like to start this short FYI with simply saying thank you for helping make this unique season happen for the students. Every performance is truly a gift and potentially our last. Thank you, so much. Student Safety in the Parking lot of Friday nights Friday night was our first evening performance where students needed to transport equipment back to the High School and unload. It is important that ALL parent and student vehicles wait for their child or be parked in the larger parking lot and not down the drive that leads to the band room doors. Due to the lack of a sidewalk there is a higher risk of a student not being seen and potentially hit on a Friday night with the large amounts of parents attempting to get in and out of the school quickly. Additionally, the congestion makes it very difficult for the equipment truck to be positioned correctly for a quick, efficient unload. Which ultimately results in a longer wait by parents and family picking up students. Rehearsal time change The sun is setting much faster and despite us having really productive rehearsals we can benefit from getting the last 30 mins of rehearsals in during this still early stage of the season. We will be pushing practice forward for the last time this Wednesday to 5pm-8pm. We will continue to rehearse from 5pm-8pm for the rest of the season regardless of the sunset. Once we have the entire drill to the show learned I plan to reduce the number of rehearsals from 3 per week to 2! So Keep the kids coming to rehearsal on time so that we can drop that 3rd full band rehearsal!!! Uniforms After the show ALL students will need to return their uniforms to PHSC to be sent out for dry-cleaning. Uniform volunteers will have racks available OUTSIDE the building for uniform drop off. Uniforms must be hung correctly upon delivery and hat boxes will stay with the students for the next show. Please deliver uniforms promptly after the band show performance. Tickets for Saturday Please use the following link to access your 2 tickets for this show. Many of you will have questions regarding the latest ticket change. Again, this is out of our control. Dr. Parulekar has graciously volunteered to field any questions you may have. Please see his letter attached to this FYI. https://www.pickerington.k12.oh.us/pickerington-north-high/phsn-box-office/ Timeline for Saturday's Show at Panther Stadium Thursday 5:00 pm Evening practice, per the calendar 8:00 pm Take home instruments if you are in Cohort-A!!! (not in uniform) 5:00 pm Band trailer arrives at North High School for unload. 5:45 pm Warm-up on NORTH PRIDE practice field. (Bring Water and a Mask) 7:00 pm Preview Show 8:00 pm Load TBD. Return to PHSC/Uniform return/unload Good morning,
This FYI will be relatively short. In comparison to two weeks ago. Not much has changed by way of protocol, but here are 4 updates since the last game. 1. Per the athletic office football tickets are not released until Wednesday evenings. This has to do with the visiting schools uploading their team roster and student id#'s. Look for tickets to go live this evening. 2. The concession stand is going to make pre-sale concession food options available to students. Order online via the student's google classroom for Marching Band and then the food will be delivered during 3rd quarter. 3. We will be hosting a pep-rally/dress rehearsal of sorts in the baseball outfield at Victory Park before the game. if you are unable to attend the game but want to hear the band on Friday join us at 5:30pm. Wear your masks and keep distant (by families) in an effort to make everyone feel safe and welcome. 4. Senior Night will take place at the band festival on October 24th in Tiger stadium. Please save the date. Look for more information for senior parents soon. Uniform The band will be wearing their summer uniforms on Friday. The vast majority of the band looked great and pasted uniform inspection at the last game. Please make sure your student's polo is not wrinkled, and remind everyone with ear rings that they must be small and subtle. No hoops or hanging ear rings, please. Anyone with long hair must have a way to pull it up off of one's shoulders. White ankle socks are the only approved socks for summer uniforms! Timeline 4:00 Band room opens/Percussion Load-in begins/instrument pick-up 5:00 Band room closes/Percussion load-in concludes 5:30 All Students report to Victory Park in basics block formation for attendance 5:45 Dress rehearsal/Pep session begin (Dare we call it a Tiger Skull session?) 6:30 Dismiss to enter stadium 6:45 Begin Pregame 7:00 Kick-off TBA Band room open for 30 minutes after the game |
